OPEN DAYS at Glenwood Village

Come to our Open Days 26th, 27th and 28th September, starting at 10.30 a.m. and take a leisurely stroll through our village with our Village Liaison officer who will take you to look through the available cottages. Afterwards, please come and join me for a cuppa and a bite to eat, while we chat about village life at Glenwood and discuss the rights and responsibilities of residences under an Occupation Right Agreement.

You will be delighted by the added security you will find at a retirement village and the checks and balances in place to ensure your life at the village is marked by peace of mind.

I look forward to making your acquaintance and answering your questions.

Stress-free Living

Glenwood’s 17 cottages are sunny, one bedroom homes set in delightful, extensive gardens.

Enjoy the independence of a place of your own along with the companionship of living within the Glenwood community where there’s always something interesting going on, but with the choice of being independent and private whenever you wish and without the worry and hassle of having to maintain your own home any more.

Open plan dining and lounge areas are complemented by up-to-date kitchens. Bathrooms have wet area showers and include a laundry area. Neutral decor throughout enhances the pleasant interiors which are kept toasty warm with heat pumps.

Carports and Scooter bays are available for those who need one. The cottages are ideal for individuals or couples wanting to maintain their independence, while also enjoying the security and companionship of being part of the Glenwood community.

Services include meals delivered to your door (by arrangement), a village liaison person to provide that link to the organisation and to keep an eye on the well-being of village residents, and activities and recreation personnel to enhance social opportunities. We have a social committee organised among the residents who arrange regular pot-luck meals and other opportunities for group get-togethers.

Service Care Packages

Optional services may be purchased to ensure your living is even easier.

For instance, you may wish to have all or some of your meals prepared by the Glenwood kitchen, or to have your linens laundered once a week.

Please discuss your requirements with our Manager.

Also, if you wish to maintain a small garden our gardeners will support you to do so.

cottage

availability

Glenwood cottages are always popular, so it is a good idea to plan ahead and make use of the wait list.

Prospective residents are under no obligation to take up a cottage offer, but being on the waiting list alerts them when cottages become available.

If you would like to find out more or make an appointment to view a cottage,or to be added to our waiting list, please call or email Veronica Ligteringen, Facility Manager.

Looking to purchase a cottage?

Cottages are competitively priced, and residency rights are purchased through an

Occupation Right Agreement (ORA).

Arrangements to inspect a cottage can be made through our Manager, who also has detailed information to assist you through the purchasing process. Glenwood contracts Covenant Trustees to independently monitor our Village to ensure residents’ interests are protected.

Glenwood is a member of the NZ Aged Care Association, and the Retirement Villages Association.
