About Glenwood Home
Since 1964, Glenwood has been run by the Glenwood South Canterbury Trust. We reinvest our income back into rest home care, facilities and village life, so your loved one benefits now and in the future.

At Glenwood, everything starts with people. From the warm welcome at reception to small everyday moments in the lounge, we create a community where residents live with dignity and choice.
As a registered charitable trust, we reinvest our income into high-quality care, comfortable facilities and social life.
Our Values
Our values guide daily life at Glenwood and shape the way we plan for the future.
Te Tiriti o Waitangi is embedded in our approach, and we have a Māori health plan and a Pacific health plan to ensure culturally safe care for all.

Board & Governance
The Glenwood South Canterbury Trust Board provides governance and strategic oversight to ensure Glenwood continues to thrive for residents, families, and the wider community. As volunteer trustees, the board safeguards the trust’s purpose, oversees financial sustainability, and supports management in maintaining the highest standards of care.
Our board members bring a wealth of experience from across South Canterbury, including backgrounds in business, health, education, finance, and community service. This diverse expertise ensures decisions are made with both professional insight and a deep understanding of the local community we serve.

The Friends of Glenwood
The Friends of Glenwood is a valued team of local volunteers who enrich the daily lives of our residents.
They run a weekly Happy Hour, lead music sessions, assist with outings, help in the garden, and spend time in one-to-one visits.
Their support expands activities, offers extra companionship, and strengthens Glenwood’s connection with the local community.
The History of Glenwood
For more than sixty years, Glenwood has evolved to meet the changing needs of our community while holding fast to the values that started it all.
